Everyone who has ever met Gem loves her.  She is an incredible dog with an incredible temperament (perhaps a little overly friendly for an Azawakh but her joy is so infectious).  Gem is from Norma Spivey at Kel Sambala's R Litter.  She is Amidi's older half-sister. As a baby, Gem's health was somewhat fragile so she received a lot of extra care and Norma absolutely fell in love with Gem, so she never left.

Gem has gotten to do a lot of fun things with Vicki Harrison Williams, Norma's long time friend as her partner including tracking, barn hunt, scent work, and conformation.  She has one of her two majors in AKC conformation.

​

In the fall of 2021, Gem was placed with us at In Stride.  Norma was retiring and wanted Gem to be able to experience a wide variety of activities and to stay in the gene pool.  I cannot tell you how honored I am to be given the chance to share my life with Gem.  I first met her at Royal Canin in 2019 when I attended with Anubi.  She was exactly as vibrant and sweet as I'd always heard.  I met her again when I visited Tennessee in fall of 2020 and fell in love with her even more.

What's more, during those visits, I could witness exactly how much of Norma's heart Gem had stolen.  Again, I cannot begin to thank her for her trust in me and for the opportunity she is giving Gem.  When her show and performance career is over, she will retire back to her first love, Norma
