When Ducky was just under seven months old, she got out of her yard and was struck by a car. She was at large for four days, before being found. Ducky broke one of her lumbar vertebra in the accident and appears to have sustained damage at an additional place in her spine. Miraculously, Ducky has no neurological symptoms and is able to live a normal life, but is not clear for high impact events no pregnancy. As such, she has been washed from our program. Due to life changes and the level of pain management Ducky needed, Ducky came back to us. During summer 2025, she developed increasingly unmanageable pain and neurological symptoms and she was let go.
In Stride's Fast and Furious - From Now On

Umbreon was a special little puppy. He was the smallest in the litter but the feistiest. He had a wonderful performance home lined up. At 4 four weeks, the litter had coccidia that was promptly treated. Shortly after, he injured his leg (soft tissue). Then the entire litter contracted canine herpes virus (CHV). While not typically fatal in puppies that age, his immune system was compromised and despite doing our best, we lost him at five weeks old.

It was one of the hardest things we have dealt with as breeders.
